The barn was built in 1924 from
a kit ordered from Sears Roebuck
for $992.00. In 1977, the land
was purchased from the Riegel
family by landowner Louis Manilow
when, University Park was then
known as Park Forest South. The
farm reminds us of the good old
days. This 7.5 acre site has a
barn, a tennis court, a baseball/softball
field, and a picnic area. During
the winter, the farm is a playground
for winter sports. It has a community
garden with 50 plots which are
available for rental to Village
residents. The renovated dairy
barn can be rented out for social
events.
Riegel Farm Complex is the best
place to hold your family reunion,
company picnic, birthday party,
wedding shower, retirement party
or any other group event. Enjoy
the setting of a farm with all
the amenities needed to insure
your group will have a splendid
time!!! Guests love our huge porch,
the outdoor picnic area, playing
volleyball, softball, tennis and
basketball. The kids love our
playground equipment. Our petting
zoo is everyone's favorite, young
and old alike. Come in and visit
our cows, horses, sheeps, goats
and llamas, as well as our more
exotic creatures, such as our
alligator and peacocks. Let’s
the kids take a pony or horse
ride, or maybe a hay wagon ride.
