Our goal is to relay to our special needs population that:
"No matter where you live, your community may experience a natural or man-made disaster-- a tornado, flood, winter storm, fire or nuclear power plant accident. In any type of disaster, individuals and families should prepare and know what to do. Community officials plan to protect and aid in the recovery of the community after a disaster. The special needs registry is a planning toll to assist officials to know where our citizens reside that may need a little bit more assistance during a disaster. Completing the registry does not mean that immediate assistance will be automatically sent to you in a disaster. But it is an important tool for officials to know what other assistance our community needs in a disaster."
We hope that you will support this program and help us get the word out. As the program continues to evolve we will continue to enhance and upgrade the registry. For those departments that have a program, we hope you can integrate this program with your existing program.
Should you have any questions or need any additional information, please do not hesitate to call Brenda Lutz or Jyane Ballun at 815-740-8351.
