Firefighter-Paramedic (Career)
The testing process for fulltime Firefighter / Paramedic is conducted approximately every two years by the Board of Police and Fire Commissioners of the Village of University Park. Once testing is completed, applicants are ranked according to scores obtained throughout the various stages in the testing process and placed on a list. As vacancies occur within the fulltime staff, applicants are contacted in the order they are ranked upon the list for current interest and further testing. Paid-on-Call Firefighter
The University Park Fire Department is continually seeking applicants to fill our Paid-on-Call ranks. ARE YOU LOOKING TO HELP YOUR COMMUNITY AND INTERESTED IN AN EXCITING AND REWARDING CAREER? If your answer is YES, our Paid-on-Call personnel receive the same training as our Career staff and supplement the department during emergencies where additional manpower is needed. Even if you have no experience in firefighting, we can train you to become a Firefighter-Paramedic in as little as three years. The training you receive can make you eligible for a career position with us or another fire department. In fact, many of our current career staff started off in our Paid-on-Call ranks.
